Is Formal Education Necessary for Understanding Physics and Cosmology?

In summary, while formal education may not be necessary for a basic understanding of physics and cosmology, it can greatly enhance one's understanding and provide a solid foundation for further exploration of these complex subjects. Formal education allows for a structured and comprehensive approach to learning, providing access to specialized knowledge, resources, and guidance from experts in the field. However, self-study and informal education can also play a significant role in understanding these subjects, as long as one is committed and motivated to continuously learn and expand their knowledge. Ultimately, a combination of formal education and self-directed learning can lead to a deeper understanding and appreciation of physics and cosmology.

Hi,
I love physics and cosmology even though I have no formal qualifications in either. Nice to be here [emoji4] .

Hello.
I hope you will enjoy visiting here as I do.
Only advice I can offer is that the site is about understanding or furthering well known science.
Weird and wonderful alternatives tend to be sucked into a black hole.

Hiya,
Thanks for the advice. I already see from what I've read that this is a hard science place but I just enjoy reading about scientific stuff. I must admit I will be mainly reading posts rather than posting as methinks I am way out of my depth [emoji3].
