- Homework Statement
- is it that quadrupole moment for odd nuclei are usually high
Krane has a mention of Q for odd neutron and proton
Is it related to pairing energy?
is there a difference between the theory and experimental values for odd nuclei
Also
for odd A I=1/2
and usually for I =1/2 the Q should be 0 but it is not so here
I am confused with this topic, could someone point out the loophole in doubt or suggest some books explaining this part in detail and why and how Q is affected( also mention of topics like why magic nuclei has Q=0 and the Lu having highest Q,etc)
Thank you
