In summary, a background in mechanical engineering can be beneficial for studying modern physics as it provides a strong foundation in mathematics, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of fundamental principles such as mechanics and thermodynamics. However, additional coursework and a strong interest in physics may be necessary for a comprehensive understanding of the subject.

I've been directed here from google countless times during the past couple of years. Finally decided to be part of this wonderful community. Do you accept a mechanical engineer? after all mechanical engineering is the most basic and fundamental of all engineering branches. I'm like a classical Newtonian physicists. and I really have the ambition and passion for modern physics. Thanks :P
