In summary, the conversation is about using SBC DSL and 2wire program for home portal network. The speaker brought their friend's computer over and now sees it listed on their network, even though it is now at a different location. The question is whether it is possible for their friend to access their computer remotely. The answer is no, unless their friend had prior access and expertise in hacking.

I use SBC DSL. SBC uses 2wire program for its home portal network. Now some time ago, I physically brought my friend's computer over to my apartment and plugged it into my 2wire modem. Now when I go to the network status page I see my computer listed and my friend's computer on my home network. His computer is now at another physical location. My question is:Is it possible from my friend's computer at its remote location to access mine?

No, its not possible for your friend's computer to access yours. Unless of course your friend planned on accessing yours before you hooked them together, and he/she was a mastermind hacker.

Does cronxeh know about this or crytography?

The short answer is no, your computer is not safe with SBC DSL and 2Wire. While SBC DSL and 2Wire may provide some basic security measures, there are still potential vulnerabilities that could allow someone to access your computer remotely.

Firstly, it is not recommended to physically bring someone else's computer onto your home network without proper security precautions in place. This can open up your network to potential threats and attacks.

Additionally, if your friend's computer is still listed on your home network status page, it is possible that they could still have access to your network. This could potentially allow them to access your computer and its files remotely.

To ensure the safety of your computer and network, it is important to regularly update your security measures, such as firewalls and antivirus software. It is also important to properly secure your network and devices, such as setting strong passwords and enabling encryption.

Overall, it is important to be cautious and take necessary steps to protect your computer and network from potential threats, even with SBC DSL and 2Wire in place.
