Is 'Polar Storm' Just Another Disappointing Disaster Movie?

I thought i was in for a good sci fi film, but what a load of rubbish, from the sub escaping a nuclear blast to starting a car with a static charge, okay the mini poles may be the right idea,
i am not sure about the electric discharges they may be a stretch.
