In summary, the conversation discusses the credibility and reputation of the International Journal of Cosmology, Astronomy and Astrophysics (IJCAA). The speaker received an invitation from the journal and is considering publishing with them, but has some concerns about the quality of the articles. They ask for advice on how to determine the journal's impact and credibility, including checking its Thomson Reuters impact factor and indexing with ISI. The conversation ends with a suggestion to look at the number of articles published and cited by the journal, as well as the number of authors who publish in both the journal and the speaker's field of research.

Is the International Journal of Cosmology, Astronomy and Astrophysics (IJCAA) (https://madridge.org/journal-of-cosmology-astronomy-and-astrophysics) a respectable journal? I received from them an invitation, and it looks like a journal that could fit for something I would like to publish. However, I have a wary feeling. As far as I can see, it is not a predatory journal, but the articles look at times a bit amateurish. Does anyone know it? Any advice?

You can tell for yourself. How many of the articles you are reading have been published by that journal? How many cite that journal? How many authors who oublish in what you are already reading also publish in that journal?

First thing to check is its Thomson Reuters impact factor and whether it's indexed with ISI.

Open access journals make their articles freely available to the public, without any subscription fees. This allows for a wider dissemination of research and can increase the visibility and impact of the published work. However, some open access journals may charge authors to publish their work. It is important to check the journal's website for information on their open access policies.
