In summary, the conversation discusses Babe Ruth's year of birth (1948), age when he died (53), and jersey number (3). It also mentions that the year 2004 marked the end of the "Curse of the Bambino" when the Boston Red Sox won the World Series. The conversation also clarifies that Babe Ruth stopped playing baseball in 1935 and that he died in 1948.

If you look hard enough you can find numbers to fit whatever you need

Babe Ruth's year of birth: 1948
Age when Ruth died: 53
Jersey number: 3

1948 + 53 + 3 = 2004 = year Boston Red Sox won world series ending the "Curse of the Bambino"

I give up. Why? Were you going to baseball games during the years he was playing? Babe Ruth stopped playing baseball in 1935. Were you going to baseball games before 1935?

FAQ: Is There a Numerical Connection to the End of the 'Curse of the Bambino'?

What is the Curse of the Bambino?

The Curse of the Bambino refers to a supposed curse placed on the Boston Red Sox baseball team after they traded Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1919. It is believed that this trade caused the Red Sox to go 86 years without winning a World Series.

Is the Curse of the Bambino real?

There is no scientific evidence to support the existence of a curse on the Red Sox. It is likely a combination of superstition and coincidence that led to their lack of success during those 86 years.

How did the Curse of the Bambino start?

The curse is said to have originated when Red Sox owner Harry Frazee sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees in order to finance a Broadway play. This was seen as a betrayal by Red Sox fans and sparked the belief in a curse.

When did the Curse of the Bambino end?

The Curse of the Bambino came to an end in 2004 when the Red Sox finally won the World Series, breaking the 86-year drought. They went on to win three more World Series titles in 2007, 2013, and 2018.

Is there a way to break the Curse of the Bambino?

As the curse is not based in scientific fact, there is no way to break it. However, the Red Sox breaking the curse in 2004 and going on to win multiple World Series has likely dispelled any belief in the curse among fans and players.
