Latex Symbols | Forum Posting Guide

In summary, you can easily add LaTeX symbols to your posts by quoting a post that already contains them. There are two types of LaTeX, in-line and centered, and for more information, you can visit the Physics Forums thread linked above. There is no need to manually close a thread, as it will naturally fall off the page after a few days.

How can I type in latex style symbols when I am adding new posts to my threads

Physics news on Phys.org

You can quote my post to see how you can add latex. In line latex: [itex]F_{\mu\nu}=\partial_\mu A_\nu - \partial_\nu A_\mu[/itex]

And centered latex:

[tex]R_{\mu\nu}-\frac{1}{2}g_{\mu\nu}R=\frac{8\pi G}{c^4}T_{\mu\nu}[/tex]

No need to close it, unless other people start jumping in and arguing about something irrelevant, or doing something else that breaks our rules. After a few days it will "fall off the bottom of the page" naturally.
