In summary, the concept of being logged in for one thing but not for others refers to the idea of having access to certain features or content on a platform or website without being fully logged in or authenticated. This is often seen in social media platforms where users can view certain posts or profiles without being signed in, but need to be logged in to interact or access additional features. It can also refer to situations where users are automatically logged in for certain services, but not for others, such as being logged in to Google for email but not for YouTube. This approach allows for a more seamless and convenient user experience, but also raises questions about privacy and security.

When you visit physicsforums.com and log in then visit www.physicsforums.com or vice-versa you get logged out. Aren't they the same site so you should be logged in. One way around this is to force www or non-WWW with a .htaccess rule and the other is to change the cookie domain. Could the admins implement this so that we can remain logged in on both?

Thanks
Brandon

I always log into the http://www. address. If a link to some other thread happens to be a http:// address instead, I just log into it. Not a problem. If you do this, you'll have cookies from both.

Just saying
