Hello I have a question regarding the ISS (international space station)

For about a year now, I've been using free youtube tutorials to teach myself how to 3D model for free. Just something I'm doing to educate myself.

As sort of an "exercise" I'm 3D modeling an interplanetary cycler ship concept I have. I'm trying to learn how to make more realistic solar panel arrays. So far pics I attached to his post shows what I was able to accomplish by simply using a photo of the ISS I found on NASA's website as reference. But I can do so much better if I could find schematics/blue prints of the ISS's solar panel array.

Does anybody know if there are schematics/blueprints on the internet somewhere that i can study so that i can use them for reference?

When I did a Google search on part of your thread title blueprints to the ISS solar panel array I got lots of good hits. I don't know if there are any measured drawings in the papers, but have you already tried a similar search?

FAQ: Looking for blueprints to the ISS solar panel array

Where can I find the blueprints for the ISS solar panel array?

Blueprints for the ISS solar panel array are not publicly available due to security and proprietary reasons. However, NASA provides detailed information and schematics about the ISS and its components on their official website and scientific publications.

Are there any detailed technical documents available for the ISS solar panel array?

Yes, NASA and its partners have published numerous technical documents and research papers that include detailed information about the ISS solar panel array. These can be found in scientific journals, NASA's Technical Reports Server (NTRS), and other aerospace engineering resources.

Can I obtain a 3D model of the ISS solar panel array for educational purposes?

Yes, NASA has made 3D models of the ISS, including its solar panel array, available for educational purposes. These models can be downloaded from NASA's official website or other educational resources that collaborate with NASA.

What materials and technologies are used in the ISS solar panel array?

The ISS solar panel arrays are made from high-efficiency photovoltaic cells, primarily using silicon and gallium arsenide. These cells are designed to withstand the harsh conditions of space, including extreme temperatures and radiation.

How efficient are the solar panels on the ISS?

The solar panels on the ISS have an efficiency of about 14%, which is quite high for space-based solar cells. They generate around 84 to 120 kilowatts of power, which is used to support the station's operations and scientific experiments.
