In summary, Wolram, these people took advantage of your good nature and you are feeling hurt and angry. You still have friends at PF and you should not give up on humans.

He and his wife were supposed to be my best friends, i fixed their burst pipes ,installed outside lighting for them, lent them my car and money, and now their house is sold, and not a word to me, people are scum.

Perhaps a cliche but true nonetheless: We meet many people but true friends are rare. About ten years ago this really hit home so I cleaned house. It was damned lonely for awhile but the best thing I ever did.

Anyway, is there any chance that they may still drop into say adios?

Right now Lisa, i am i tears, for the loss of a so called friend and the fact that i do not know where he is so that i can beat the s o b into a pulp, and
yes most people are the same.

Did they owe you money?

wolram,
The only reason you're posting this here is because you know you have friends here.

The money does not mean much but yes, if i think back to the favours i did for them and the cash i lent them, it adds up to quite a bit.

Do you think this is why they said nothing?

They may just feel guilty about all you done for them and did not know how to say goodbye. I'm sorry Wolram.

and all ways bought some token present, i am so stupid.

Perhaps they had resons not to say anything and will contact you soon Wolram. Its not beyond the realms for this to be possible. If they do not I'm sorry that they took advantage of your good nature but keep the faith we'll come through some day

Yes your friends at PF are good people. PF people are largely good.

The two people who disappeared without a word do not represent most people. Perhaps one or both has some type of personality disorder.

The next time I'm in the UK, I'll look you up and we'll have a beer or cup of tea - or how about tea and crumpet or tea and scones. I'll bring some jam or preserves. :-p
