Magnet repulsion distance calculation

Click For Summary
To calculate the repulsion distance between two Neodymium magnets with a pull force of 10 pounds, one can use the inverse square law, which states that the force decreases with the square of the distance between the magnets. However, the exact distance can be complex to determine due to factors like magnet size, shape, and alignment. Many users suggest that practical testing may yield more accurate results than theoretical calculations. Simulations can also help visualize the forces at play, but they require detailed specifications of the magnets. Overall, while theoretical equations exist, experimentation is often the most effective approach for such systems.

hey, so let's say i have 2 Neodymium magnets with a pull force of 10 pounds and set them at a position where they repell themselves. so my question is: how can i know in what distance will the top magnet be from the other one?
if there's and equation for that or an explanation, please tell them, they will be very welcomed.
p.s. I am not very good at physics, so if you somehow find this question as a stupid one just so you'll know.

If you know details about the magnets, you can probably simulate it. In general, those systems are hard to calculate, and testing is easier.
