Materials in an Electronic World

  • Thread starter Solid-Statist

In summary, materials in an electronic world refer to any physical or digital resources used in the creation, distribution, and consumption of electronic media. This can include everything from the raw materials used to make electronic devices, such as silicon and copper, to the digital content and data that is created, shared, and stored online. The rise of technology and the internet has greatly expanded the range and accessibility of materials in an electronic world, leading to new opportunities and challenges in how we produce and consume media. From e-books and online articles to 3D printing and virtual reality, the materials in an electronic world continue to evolve and shape our modern society.

How did you find PF?
Google search on "thermal resistance of electronic subassemblies"
I'd like to understand more about the requirements of electronic packaging, and how those are evolving to meet the demands of ever-greater performance.

My education was in Chemical Engineering, and my professional background is in high-performance polymers for electrical/electronic insulation and thermo-compression lamination. Always having been a bit befuddled by the nuances of electricity, I try to reduce system dynamics to simple metrics ... like breakdown voltage, delta-T and laminar sheer strength (before and after severe thermal shocks!).

Welcome to PF! It's good to have you here.

You should find some interesting threads in our ME, EE, Materials Engineering and Thermodynamics forums. Enjoy!

Well, it's certain nice to have found this forum!

From puttering around the website, I see that there's plenty of expertise in lots of technical fields, even some where I already have some experience.

For instance, there's discussion about high-energy physics and particle accelerators ... over the years, I've supplied insulation systems for superconducting magnets for DOE and CERN projects. So, if any of you out there are planning on building an accelerator...
