In Summary, this device is a novelty light-jobby. It was found in the possession of a young person and is likely used at a rave.

You young whippersnappers out there, can you tell me what this gadget is?
Clearly, it is meant to be inserted in the mouth. That pipe down the middle has a hole running right through it. The hole is (larger at the mouth end and smaller at the exit end)**.
Some sort of raving device? Breathing tube? Sparkler-holder?

I presume you can see it now?

Edit: **Actually, in retrospect, I don't know which end is which. I'd assumed that, in the pic, the device is pointing away from us, but now that I think about it, it makes more sense if, in the pic, it is pointing towards us (The teeth gutters would more universally fit any sized mouth). That would mean that the exit/entrance hole is *larger* than the mouth-end hole - which also makes more sense.

I should point out, it was in the possession of a "yoot", not some sex maniac or proctologist.

I can't see the picture so I'm just going to take a guess
it's for blowing up people like balloons without getting poop on you lips.

The pic hasn't been approved yet. Can you maybe post a link to the original?

Last year a 17 year old girl told me that when you take some drug or other (ecstasy? special K?) there is some danger of biting your tongue.

This may be a hospital tube holder that's being used to prevent the tongue biting while using this drug. (The girl who told me about this used a common baby pacifier. She had it on a string around her neck, which is what I was asking about.)

Looks like it has to do with smoking something. Alcohol? Stick a joint in there?

Is it one of those devices EMTs can use to perform artificial respiration on someone without coming in direct contact with the patient?

A mouth guard for endoscopy?

It's hard to get a sense of the size of the object from the photo, but I'll take a guess, anyway.

Is it a device for administering pills to cats? You clamp the cat's jaws down on the teeth guard, insert the pill into one end, and blow the pill down the cat's throat (just remember, don't inhale after you've place the pill into the delivery canal).

I think it looks like it's from the world of dentistry.

Perhaps a tray for taking dental impressions?

Or something to bite whilst having a dental X-ray taken?

Its, that thing that the paramedics stick in your mouth when they are jump starting you with the difribulator. And if it isn't then it should be.

I've had tonnes of dental impressions done, and I've not seen anything like that.

What's a "yoot"?

Could this be the mouth-piece for a stomach pump? You hook up a vacuum cleaner to one end and just suck everything up the person's throat?

Okay, that's probably going to take a much longer attachment to do that, but it's a shot in the dark, anyway.

Along Matt's line of thinking, maybe a guide/gag-reflex-inhibitor for inserting an airway or feeding tube?

OK, well as far as scale, it is clearly mouth-sized. The two "wings" are designed to be held between the teeth, the tube then extends out of the mouth.

This was found in the possession of a young person (16-30y), and is likely used at a rave. (No, it was not one of my children.)

I can think of two likely uses (which may not be mutually exclusive):
1] some sort of clamp-guard (stops teeth banging together - just like a boxer's mouthpiece) the hole is for breathing through
2] a holder for something like a sparkler (which ravers love)

Yeah, I think that's it. It's for holding a sparkler.
Thanks. My son's friend left it on my table.
