Healthy baby girl born to my sister today!
Anyone else had any new additions to the family recently?
Are there any traditions in your family related to births?
In her complete, queenly self-centredness, beauty and helplessness, she is the perfectly adorable being in the whole world!Drakkith said:Uh oh, I'm an uncle again!

The last addition here was Myrthe, four and a half months now.
She really is the ray of sunshine in the house.

As soon as the first picture is taken, it's sent to everyone's cell phone.
Then I race to be the first one to post it on Facebook.
The last one looked kind of funny to me, as I have bad eyes, and a small cell phone.
I knew there was a baby involved, as there was much pre-commotion
But really, all I could see was sculptured spam.
Transferred to Facebook, I could see a baby, and verified that my sister's spawn had not spawned spam.
But anyways, lisab posted a very wonderful song about Oliver James. Though I can't now figure out how to find that song.
I am old.

The picture looks kind of like a conch shell!
OmCheeto said:Yay! I love that song. It was so apropos.
Anyways, my non-sculpted spam, non-conch shell, grand-nephew:

ps. I had to text-yell at my other sister when her first grandson was born just a few months earlier as she was text-imaging me a picture of sculpted spam about every 5 minutes for about an hour while I was at work. I told her to post them on Facebook. She said she couldn't, as she was "sooooo busy". My sister hasn't had a job in 20 years. Of course, I did the appropriate thing, and shut the hell up before I reminded her of that fact.
Oh well, 582 dtg until I'm a parasite on society, as well.

The birth of a baby girl is a joyful and special occasion for a family. It signifies the arrival of a new life and the growth of the family. It is a time to celebrate and welcome the newest member with love and excitement.
There are many ways to celebrate a baby girl's birth, such as throwing a baby shower, hosting a gender reveal party, or organizing a small gathering with family and friends. You can also celebrate by taking cute photos, creating a memorable keepsake, or giving thoughtful gifts to the parents and the baby.
It is a common tradition to bring gifts when visiting a new baby girl. These gifts can be practical items like diapers and baby clothes, or sentimental gifts like a personalized blanket or a toy. It is always appreciated to bring a gift to show your love and support for the new addition to the family.
Involving older siblings in celebrating a new baby girl's birth is a great way to make them feel included and excited about their new sibling. You can ask them to help with decorating the nursery, choosing a name for the baby, or even help with taking care of the baby. You can also plan a special outing or activity for the older siblings to bond with the new baby.
Yes, there are many cultural traditions and customs for celebrating a new baby girl's birth. For example, in some cultures, a baby shower is not held until after the baby is born, while in others, it is customary to bring gifts for both the mother and the baby. Some cultures also have specific rituals or ceremonies to welcome and bless the new baby girl. It is always a good idea to ask the parents about their cultural traditions and customs to show respect and understanding.
