Nothing clickable in the reply area

In summary, there were some issues with the reply area not functioning properly, such as not being able to click on emojis or change the font. These issues seemed to be temporary bugs and were fixed after clearing the browser cache and restarting the computer. Some users also reported seeing a new window for editing posts. These issues were resolved and everything is now working properly.

When I am in the reply area, I cannot click anything. I cannot click smilies, I cannot change the font using the pull down menu, or anything. Is this just a temporary bug? Ahhh :

I am using windows xp, firefox 1.5 beta 1

Those features work in the regular reply/quote function, they don't work with the quick reply.

Yea right. I once (you guys find my anectdotes annoying?), anyway, I submitted an update with a list of limitations to the big dogs for approval. They said, "why does the software have all these limitations?"

I told them, all software has limitations, you just don't get a nice list like this one with most of them".

I don't think the size is a bug (though it seemed to display funny for you...for me it's just a normal drop down list with each number showing the actual size of the font...but my 7 isn't hanging off the bottom edge of the box like in your shot). I think it's supposed to help you know the actual size of the font you're picking, so size 7 looks like this: 7

My problem's fixed...but now I'm on a windows computer running IE. I'll have to check later to see if they return with Firefox.

It only works for me on IE. None of the edit tools work (and I still have the old style edit window) with either Firefox 1.0 or Mozilla 1.4

Lisa!, does it work for you ? What browser do you use ?

Everything works for me using Firefox 1.0.7

Make sure you clear your browser cache as there may be old javscript files conflicting with new javascript files.

Clearing cache helped. I still get a new window for editing posts, but at least all the buttons now work (this is on Mozilla).

I think when we had the last upgrade (the one that turned all the buttons green), what finally reset whatever needed resetting was to log off of PF, clear the cache and restart the computer, then log back in (I was one of the last to see the green buttons). Though, this time I didn't need to go to such drastic measures. Everything was already there when I logged in this morning.

FAQ: Nothing clickable in the reply area

What does it mean when there is nothing clickable in the reply area?

When there is nothing clickable in the reply area, it means that there are no options or buttons available for the user to click on in order to reply to a message or comment. This could be due to a technical issue or because the feature is not available for that particular platform.

Why can't I click on anything in the reply area?

If you are unable to click on anything in the reply area, it could be due to a browser issue or a problem with the website or app you are using. Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser's cache to see if that resolves the issue. If the problem persists, it could be a technical issue that needs to be addressed by the platform's developers.

Is it normal for there to be nothing clickable in the reply area?

It depends on the platform or website you are using. Some platforms may not have the option for users to reply to messages or comments, so it would be normal for there to be nothing clickable in the reply area. However, if the platform does have a reply feature and it is not working, then it would not be normal and could be a technical issue.

How can I reply to a message or comment if there is nothing clickable in the reply area?

If there are no clickable options available in the reply area, you can try using a different device or browser to see if that resolves the issue. You can also try reaching out to the platform's support team for assistance. If the reply feature is not available on the platform, you can try direct messaging the user or commenting on their post instead.

Can I fix the issue of there being nothing clickable in the reply area?

If the issue is due to a technical problem on the platform, it is best to reach out to their support team for assistance. If the reply feature is not available on the platform, there is no way to fix it as it is a design or feature choice by the platform's developers.
