In summary: Stay another day MIH, don't go back to that sweltering apartment, the heat in the walls and floors is going to be like an oven.It was 113 degrees in LA today and it's supposed to be in the upper 30s tomorrow. I'm glad I'm camping out at a hotel with air conditioning. With my cat. Not to mention that it's only 97 degrees right now. Seattle is definitely not the place to be in this weather. I'm going to pick a movie from the TV.

I was so tempted, but the marine layer came in this morning and I think it's going to hang in there. I think we'll be OK.

That room was worth every penny. I was cool as a cucumber, even a little cold! It's a little boutique hotel with a beautiful view of the marina. This morning at breakfast they had black and white cow coffee creamers on the tables. :!)

I loathe heat... if it's cold you can just keep layering... if it's hot you can't get past naked (enjoy that image, heh). Heat... is the pits, and if you add humidity it's hell on earth.

Give me a nice chilly morning any day over heat (not that I get a choice in the matter). I love a crisp winter morning, hate waking up and feeling hot and sweaty.

I agree 100%... I love the bracing feel of fall and winter, it really makes you feel alive. I'd add, you then really appreciate the warmth indoors, so it's a bit like a fine wine, enhancing the total experience while having its own unique benefits.

Heat is just unpleasant as a climate (saunas, hot-tub and such aside).

Apparently.

And Evo? I agree whole-heartedly. Your bolding is totally CLASS!

Getting hot under the collar? Perhaps you need to find a heat refuge. Check out MIH's "heat refugee" thread.

It's those little touches, that extra attention to detail, that make a stay memorable. Cow-shaped creamers are a hallmark of good taste.

And the food at their restaurant was wonderful! I had mahi mahi with a tropical salsa, sauteed spinach, and steamed garden vegetables.

I have to go back because I want to try their filet, which they describe as "served with a Blue Cheese Garlic Butter finished with roasted Pine Nuts". :!)

It has been raining here non-stop for the past two months, I found out this morning that a mouse has taken refuge in my apartment and feasted on the trash can.

So you have a new pet? What did you name him?
