In summary, the conversation discusses a problem with a registration image or captcha not showing up on the website. The issue was resolved the next morning with a different type of captcha being displayed. The conversation also mentions the possibility of being on a fake site and the individual re-registering as a new user. The issue was also encountered on other browsers.

Using OSX Leopard.

Safari, Opera, FF, browers same thing. No registration image. Reset cache, cookies etc. checked Java. Everything. No image. Just blue box GIF with question mark.

That was last night. This morning there was a cognitive-style captcha rather: take prefix from 'somewhere' and what do you get? sort of thing. Fine.

Just thought I'd let you know.

So I'm registered (after many years hiatus) again.

There should never be an image capatcha. Who were you before?

I can't remember who I was. Searched your member list to see a familiar name, but none of them rang a bell. Searched my email accounts. I must have done some zealous box-cleaning. So I just re-registered as a new user, but the 'registration image', which I'm calling a 'captcha' for convenience, would not show.

This morning there was the question-style 'captcha'.

It vaguely occurs to me I was on a fake site, but having reset everything, last night's site visits are gone. I can check my Opera and FF history though.

Edit: I've examined the Firefox version of PP registration. Similar problem. It goes something like this:

'Please enter the six letters or digits that appear in the image opposite.________Registration Image Refresh Image'

But there is no image, and the Refresh button doesn't bring one up.

FAQ: Registration Captcha not showing last night.

Why wasn't the registration captcha showing last night?

There could be a few reasons for this. It's possible that there was an issue with the website or server that caused the captcha to not load properly. It's also possible that there was a technical glitch or error with the captcha itself. Additionally, if the captcha is dependent on a third-party service, it's possible that there was a problem with that service that caused it to not show up.

Is this a common problem with registration captchas?

It depends on the specific captcha and website. While captchas are designed to prevent spam and automated bots, they can sometimes experience technical issues that prevent them from appearing. However, in most cases, captchas should show up consistently and without problems.

Can I still register without the captcha?

It depends on the website's settings. Some websites may allow you to complete the registration process without the captcha, while others may require it for security purposes. If the captcha is not showing up, it's best to contact the website's support team for assistance.

Will the captcha be fixed soon?

If the issue is with the website or server, it's likely that the captcha will be fixed as soon as possible. However, if the issue is with the captcha itself or a third-party service, it may take longer to resolve. It's best to reach out to the website's support team for an estimated timeline.

Is there anything I can do to fix the captcha not showing up?

If the issue is with the website or server, there may not be anything you can do on your end to fix it. However, you can try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, or using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue. If not, it's best to contact the website's support team for further assistance.
