Roberto's Indonesian Punggur Meteorite: My 2021 Collection Addition

In summary, the conversation is centered around the topic of collecting meteorites and the environmental impact of travel for this purpose. The participants discuss the collectors they know, including the avid collector Roberto Vargas from the USA and Topher Spinnato who is known for being proactive in obtaining meteorites. They also touch on the idea of private or commercial trips to Antarctica to collect meteorites, and the potential ethical and environmental concerns surrounding this. The conversation also delves into the difference between wants and needs, and the impact of travel on the environment. Ultimately, the conversation raises questions about the benefits and drawbacks of collecting meteorites and the importance of considering the carbon footprint of such activities.

Looks like you've already posted a lot of photos:

Very cool @davenn

Yes, there are a few in that thread
The first 5 pix are of the same meteorite ( different sides)
That one is my largest acquition so far at 1.5kg, very nice meteorite out of NW Africa
A real solid chunk of stone !

There are some other varieties down the thread and in a couple of other threads
But I will do several pictures of several of the trays that hold the majority of the smaller samples
just so that you and others get an idea on how most of them are stored
