I am majoring in physics with a minor in chemistry and I am wondering if taking two semesters of physical chemistry as an option for the minor would be redundant. From looking around I have seen that the first semester is watered down thermodynamics and the second semester is about quantum mechanics.
I want to know if there is any material in these two semesters that isn't covered in thermal physics and quantum mechanics. I tried looking at the table of contents in textbooks and it hasn't helped me much. To sum up, I want to know if taking physical chemistry would be a waste of time.
