How did you find PF?

Hello,

I'm Software Developer who plays football and table tennis in free time, but most of my free time I spent in garden constantly building something.

Kind regards,

Welcome to PF. It's good to have you here.

In your avatar photo, what is that big trench for? Part of your garden projects?

Thnx 😊

Yea, it is trench for earth tubing project. I'm hoping it will be able to heat up greenhouse over the winter, so my veggies don't freeze 😅

Should you add some more diagonal pieces into that structure to resist racking? What kind of wind loading is there on your property?

I forgot to mention that I'm from Zagreb, Croatia (EU), we don't have strong winds like hurricanes. From time to time we have some bad weathers, but as I remember we never had winds stronger than 62mph(100 kmh/h). Additionally, whole garden is surrounded by high hedge (around 6ft(2m) high).

About diagonal pieces, I don't have newest images of it, but lower half of greenhouse is reinforced with wooden boards (it can already be seen on both images).

Great, that should help as long as the wooden boards are tied in well to the vertical members. I believe that construction technique is called a "cripple wall". 100kph winds are pretty strong!

I'll post new images tomorrow, it's dark here atm. Also forgot to mention that my land is in the middle of neighbourhood, from all sides it's covered with houses. I believe 62mph looses a lot of its power due to high hedge and neighbouring houses.
