In summary, the movie was better than expected, and it got the couple interested in the original series.

I just watched the movie "Get Smart," and I have to admit it was better than I thought it was going to be. I was not a fan of the original series and I had very low hopes on the movie being any better, but Steve Carell is probably my favorite actor at the moment. He can make me laugh. Every single time he is on screen in Anchorman I crack up and the scene in Bruce Almighty where he spouts gibberish while reading the news is hilarious.

My wife and I had the same reaction. We were expecting an average movie at best, and were happily surprised.

I was looking on you tube for some funny steve carrell moments and I've decided I've got to watch the Office more often.

That movie was much better than expected, and it kind of got me hooked onto The Office as well.

(Not to say that Carell's Daily Show days and other movies were bad--I simply hadn't seen as much of them)

Well, I use a male red-bellied woodpecker for my avatar, so I thought it was obvious I'm a guy...

Because I loved the original series, I don't particularly want to see the movie.

Forty years after clumsy agent Maxwell Smart immortalised the shoe phone, an Australian computer scientist has developed a real-life version and published detailed step-by-step instructions online.

It may seem like an impractical novelty in a world of iPhones and tiny bluetooth headsets but the inventor, Paul Gardner-Stephen, insists there are practical applications - including, surprisingly enough, helping the elderly.

And the gadget has been so popular among the geek crowd that he is considering selling it via online stores...

Yeah but if you start removing your shoe to make a call, and the president happens to be within throwing distance, people may just take things the wrong way...

Don't even think about getting on an airplane with those shoes!

I loved the original series, so I wanted to watch the new one, and it was so awesome! How could anyone not like Get Smart?

"Can you hold for a minute? I've got a call on my other shoe."

I really enjoyed the movie as well. Excuse me while I go into the "cone of silence."
