I'm looking into traveling to Croatia for a few days. Has anyone been there? What are the sights to see, what is the general vibe? Also, is it safe to venture around in Bosnia and Serbia a bit?

You would get very happy in Bosnia, although the repair activities are progressing nicely

Andre said:It is but there is a reason for that choice. Although this year Greece is burned down :-(
Just what do you want to see in a European holiday? Beaches, culture, history, people, nature?

Can I have all those things? :)
Andre said:Definitely the Canaries. Best choice is La Palma

The top must-see places in Croatia include Dubrovnik, Plitvice Lakes National Park, Split, Hvar Island, and the capital city of Zagreb. Each of these destinations offers unique experiences such as stunning coastal views, historic landmarks, and natural wonders.
Croatia is generally a safe country to travel to. The crime rate is low and the locals are friendly and helpful. However, it is always important to use common sense and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded tourist areas.
The best time to visit Croatia is during the summer months of June to August, when the weather is warm and sunny, and many outdoor activities and festivals are available. However, if you want to avoid crowds and save money, the shoulder seasons of April to May and September to October are also great times to visit.
Some traditional dishes to try in Croatia include cevapi (grilled minced meat), burek (stuffed pastry), and pasticada (slow-cooked beef stew). Seafood, especially along the coast, is also a must-try, with dishes such as black risotto and grilled octopus being popular choices.
Some cultural customs and etiquette to keep in mind when visiting Croatia include greeting people with a handshake, saying "please" and "thank you" in Croatian (molim and hvala), and dressing modestly when visiting churches or other religious sites. It is also important to be respectful of local customs and traditions, such as removing your shoes when entering someone's home.
