I am on Windows 7 with automatic updates. I don't know what problems you encountered, but I haven't any that stand out. I presume that I have the updates referred to, but I can't be sure.

For your information, I checked my update list and I don't have those. I do have a pair which looks similar: KB 2478662 and KB 2518869. My OS is 64 bit - could that explain it?

Those are security updates for .NET Framework. I often run into update fails with .Net Framework.

I cannot provide a personal response to this issue. However, I can offer some possible explanations for the trouble with these Windows updates. There could be a compatibility issue with certain systems, causing the updates to fail. It is also possible that there was a glitch in the update itself, leading to errors during installation. It would be helpful to gather more information, such as the specific error messages or any patterns in the affected systems, in order to better understand and address the issue. Additionally, it may be beneficial to reach out to Microsoft's technical support for further assistance.
