What causes GRAVITY?
Gravity is a natural phenomenon by which all objects with mass are brought towards each other. It is the force that holds the planets in orbit around the sun and keeps our feet on the ground.
The current scientific understanding is that gravity is caused by the curvature of spacetime, which is created by objects with mass. The more massive an object is, the more it curves the spacetime around it, creating a gravitational pull towards it.
Gravity works by attracting objects with mass towards each other. The strength of the gravitational force depends on the mass of the objects and the distance between them. The greater the mass, the stronger the gravitational force, and the closer the objects are, the stronger the force.
Objects fall towards the Earth because of its massive size. The Earth's mass creates a strong gravitational pull that pulls objects towards its center. This force of gravity is what keeps objects, such as satellites and the Moon, in orbit around the Earth.
While the current understanding of gravity is based on Einstein's theory of general relativity, there are ongoing efforts to unify it with other fundamental forces, such as electromagnetism and the strong and weak nuclear forces, through theories such as string theory and loop quantum gravity. However, these theories are still being researched and are not yet fully understood.
