What Causes a Brick to Topple? Investigating Dynamics and Tipping Points

In summary, the toppling of a brick can be caused by various factors such as changes in the environment, external forces, or the structure's own dynamics. Investigating these dynamics can help determine the tipping points that lead to the brick's collapse, such as shifts in weight distribution or weak points in the brick's composition. Understanding these causes can aid in preventing future instances of brick toppling and ensuring the stability of structures.

I am retired now and interested in climate change and thereby interested in tipping points. So for the last few months, I have been investigating the dynamics of a toppling brick. I derived a differential equation of for the motion and wrote a computer program to solve this from initial conditions. I did B Sc Hons in applied maths.
