  • Thread starter Greg Bernhardt
  • Start date
In summary, the conversation revolves around different Halloween costumes and the speakers' past experiences with the holiday. One person is dressed as a NASA pilot, another as the starry sky, and others mention dressing up as a physicist or Chucky from Child's Play. One person shares a photo of themselves and their spouse dressed up, while another mentions dressing up as the Swedish Chef from The Muppets. Some speakers express their love for Halloween and dressing up, while others no longer celebrate or have the opportunity to dress up.

I would love to see those pictures, Greg!
My grandchildren told me I don't need a costume, my bald head is scary enough!

I don't celebrate Halloween anymore. The last time I did was when I was a pre-teen.

Going as a physicist, like the other 364 days of the year.

I loved dressing up for Halloween. Unfortunately, I just don't have an excuse to do so now. My daughter has grown up so I don't get to take her trick or treating. We don't know anyone who throws Halloween parties or would come to one if we threw it. I'd even go all out for the kids coming to our place, but we never get any. (We live on a short dead end street, which is just enough isolated from everyone else that its just not worth it for the kids to come down it.) :frown:

* What is your Halloween costume? *
I don't like rituals but if I did it would be something like Chucky from the child's play movies.

Just threw on sweatpants and a Bruins jersey and said I'm Happy Gilmore. Which undoubtedly makes me one of the least popular people on campus (I live in BC).

I'm going as a bicycle Medic. It might be a bit chilly for shorts after dark, though...o0)

FAQ: What Do NASA Pilots and Starry Skies Have in Common on Halloween?

What is your Halloween costume?

My Halloween costume is a scientist, just like me!

Are you dressing up as a specific scientist?

Yes, I am dressing up as Marie Curie, the first woman to win a Nobel Prize in Physics.

Why did you choose to be a scientist for Halloween?

As a scientist, I am fascinated by the wonders of the world and the unknown. Halloween is a time to embrace the spooky and mysterious, so it seemed fitting to dress up as a scientist.

Did you make your costume yourself?

Yes, I love being creative and making my own costumes. It allows me to express my personality and interests in a unique way.

What Halloween science experiments will you be doing?

I have a few fun Halloween science experiments planned, including making slime with pumpkin puree and creating a ghost bubble using dry ice. I can't wait to share them with my friends and family!
