    Sequence
In summary, the next number in the sequence is 4. This is obtained by adding 1 to each digit in the previous sequence. The connection to the number pi is also noted.

What comes next?

2,0,3,0,4,8,1,5,4,2,4,7,8,6,8,2,1,2,7,3,...

:)

How about you telling us the answer?

That's boring! I'll hand out a hint, though: it's a generally well known sequence in disguise, but that sequence is not generally known as a sequence...

Answer in white Add 1 to each digit. Easy as pie

I should have noted that the answer is 5.

You could have made the problem more difficult by giving more information. What is the next number in this sequence?

2,0,3,0,4,8,1,5,4,2,4,7,8,6,8,2,1,2,7,3,5,1,5,3,2,2,7,2,1,6,8,4,...

Well, I tried to avoid any zeros, heh. I guess the answer could be -1, but that really doesn't seem quite right. Maybe 9?

Here is another

zero

zero implies all other numbers.
You can't miss with my answer.

Here is the original sequence:
2,0,3,0,4,8,1,5,4,2,4,7,8,6,8,2,1,2,7,3,...
Here is the same sequence obtained by adding 1 to each digit.
3,1,4,1,5,9,2,6,5,3,5,8,9,7,9,3,2,3,8,4,...
Note the connection between this sequence and the number [itex]\pi[/itex].

FAQ: What is the connection between this sequence and the number \pi?

What is the "Next Number in Sequence" problem?

The "Next Number in Sequence" problem is a mathematical puzzle that involves finding the pattern or rule that governs a given sequence of numbers, and using that pattern to determine the next number in the sequence.

How do you solve a "Next Number in Sequence" problem?

To solve a "Next Number in Sequence" problem, you should first carefully examine the given sequence of numbers and try to identify any patterns or rules that may be present. Then, use those patterns or rules to determine the next number in the sequence.

Are there specific strategies for solving "Next Number in Sequence" problems?

Yes, there are several strategies that can be used to solve "Next Number in Sequence" problems. These include identifying common patterns such as arithmetic or geometric progressions, looking for relationships between numbers, and using algebraic equations to describe the sequence.

What are some common mistakes to avoid when solving "Next Number in Sequence" problems?

Some common mistakes to avoid when solving "Next Number in Sequence" problems include assuming patterns that are not actually present in the sequence, ignoring edge cases or outliers, and not checking the accuracy of your solution using the given sequence.

How can "Next Number in Sequence" problems be applied in real life?

"Next Number in Sequence" problems can be applied in various fields such as mathematics, computer science, and data analysis. In real life, they can be used to predict future trends, make financial projections, and even in coding algorithms for pattern recognition.
