In summary, the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected PhD students in physics, with many facing disruptions to their research, funding, and career prospects. The closure of laboratories and restrictions on in-person meetings have forced students to adapt to remote work and virtual conferences, potentially delaying their progress and hindering their ability to network and collaborate. Additionally, the economic impact of the pandemic has led to funding cuts and job losses, creating financial stress and uncertainty for many students. As a result, the pandemic has highlighted the need for support and resources for PhD students in physics during times of crisis.
