What is the result of dividing log(log x) by log x?

In summary, division is a mathematical operation that involves separating a larger number into equal parts, represented by the symbol "÷". To perform division, you need a dividend, a divisor, and you divide the dividend by the divisor to get the quotient. Division is the inverse of multiplication, and it is used in fractions, finding averages, and calculating rates and ratios. There are different methods of division, including long division, short division, and chunking.

No, it's [log(log x)] / [log x]. :-p

[tex]\frac{\log\log x}{\log x}[/tex] doesn't simplify.

[tex]\frac{log(log(x))}{log(x)}[/tex] would equal log(x) if [tex]log(log(x))=(log(x))^2=log(x)log(x)[/tex], but it doesn't :-p

It's the same deal as trying to simplify say, [tex]\frac{sin(sinx)}{sinx}[/tex] this doesn't equal sin(x) because the numerator is not sin2(x)

FAQ: What is the result of dividing log(log x) by log x?

What is division?

Division is a mathematical operation that involves separating a larger number into equal parts. It is the inverse of multiplication and is represented by the symbol "÷".

How do you perform division?

To perform division, you need to have a dividend (the number being divided) and a divisor (the number that divides the dividend). You then divide the dividend by the divisor to get the quotient (the result of the division).

What is the difference between division and multiplication?

Division and multiplication are inverse operations. While multiplication combines equal groups, division separates a larger group into equal parts. In multiplication, the product is the result, while in division, the quotient is the result.

What are the different methods of division?

There are several methods of division, including long division, short division, and chunking. Long division is the most common method and involves dividing digit by digit. Short division is a quicker version of long division and is used when the divisor is a single digit. Chunking involves repeatedly subtracting the divisor from the dividend until the remainder is less than the divisor.

How is division related to other math operations?

Division is related to other math operations in various ways. It is the inverse of multiplication, as mentioned earlier. It is also used in fractions, where the numerator is divided by the denominator. Additionally, division is used to find the average of a set of numbers and to calculate rates and ratios.
