In summary, the safest way to send stock certificates to a brokerage is by using registered mail with signature confirmation. This method is also less expensive than using other shipping services. Alternatively, you could hire an armored car to personally deliver the certificates, but this would come at a higher cost. It is recommended to make copies of the certificates and insure the package for its value. The distance between Fresno, CA and Wall St, New York, NY is approximately 2,976 miles and would take about 2 days and 3 hours to drive.

Registered mail with signature confirmation, this proves that it was received, it's also less expensive than UPS, FED Ex, etc...

Unless you want to hire an armored car to personally drive it there.

Make copies of the certificates, and you can make a big deal of showing them to the mail clerk when you put them into the envelope. You can insure the package for the value of the stocks, you will have the contents of the package listed on your receipt.

Hey, for enough money, I will come pick them up and drive them to wherever they're going. :-p

Your title was misleading, Pengwuino, it sounded like you were submitting a scientific paper to a journal, I was all set to congratulate you. :frown:
Anyone, stop being a baby and drive the thing there yourself if you're so worried about it.

FAQ: What is the safest way to mail paper documents like stock certificates?

What is the safest way to mail a paper?

The safest way to mail a paper is to use a secure envelope or package that is designed to protect the contents during transit. This could include padded envelopes, bubble mailers, or even cardboard boxes.

Should I use regular mail or a shipping service?

If the paper is valuable or important, it is generally recommended to use a shipping service such as UPS, FedEx, or USPS Priority Mail. These services typically offer tracking and insurance options for added security.

Is it better to send the paper through certified mail?

Certified mail provides proof of mailing and delivery, making it a good option for important or sensitive documents. However, it may not necessarily be the safest option as it does not offer physical protection for the paper.

Can I send the paper internationally?

Yes, you can send papers internationally. However, it is important to research the specific mailing requirements and restrictions for the destination country to ensure a safe delivery.

Do I need to use additional packaging materials?

If you are using a regular envelope or package, it is recommended to use additional packaging materials such as bubble wrap or packing peanuts to protect the paper. This is especially important if the paper is fragile or has sharp edges.
