What makes North Carolina a great state for mountain lovers?

My names is Jim, I live in NC. I really like this state and the mountains, but look forward seeing some new mountains soon. During my physics 203 class I found this site helpful and more so interesting. So i decided to join. Currently a Senior in college, graduating in May!
