Where Did Our Tribdog Go? Exam Tips for Sleep-Deprived Students

In summary: Even Danger can't top Math when it comes to one liners. So in summation, if you're looking for someone to give you a good laugh, you'd be better off hunting around elsewhere.

Where is our Tribdog??

Seriously, does anyone know? I miss the bugger, good times we had the last few months before he disappeared. Where did he go? I hope it wasn't that check business...

LOL! You apparently need to catch up on some reading too! He's been around since this weekend.

OH thank goodness, i was really starting to worry that Danger would get the pink ribbon this year, that would have been a tragedy.

Really though, glad to hear that.

Well, I still think Danger is going to give him a run for his money on the pink ribbon this year! And SOS and Huck and Artman! A lot of strong candidates this year. He's not going to be able to count on incumbency status this time around.

Yeah, but he has to be here to win.

I personally will be voting for Tribdog purely because I don't like any of the other possible candidates.

I'm voting for Smurf, because I hear he looks good in pink. :-p

I'm going for Franz, because he has an incredible talent for being funny without meaning to be.

You guys are forgetting that the mentors decide who gets on the list. You can't vote for someone that's not on the list. (no write ins)

Funny, I haven't seen any chocolate or King Crab leg deliveries yet. I guess we may not have a "funniest member" category for 2005. tsk, tsk

*Calls Paris*
*I thought I %^#@& told you it was supposed to be a daily delivery! No, no, no, I specifically told you the address was Choosemenow, WI, NOT Cheesemenow!  Heads will roll if she doesn't get those deliveries resumed immediately!"

*Calls Alaska*
"Hi, are king crab legs in season?"

*The violins play as The Bob stands on the stage waiting for silence .................................................................................................................................
Still waiting
.................................................................................................................................
Still waiting
.................................................................................................................................
'SHUT UP!'*

I had a vote in that once. But now I am just not found funny anymore so I will have no chance this year (although, honesty, I will never have a chance :-p. Too many funny people around ).

*Violin players stop and kick The Bob for wasting their time with the pathetic story. The Bob laughs and finds it funny because he knows they are not going to get payed.*

For my money, the very funniest things said here have come out of the mouths of people who aren't always trying to be funny. You see a post by tribdog and you know instantly it is going to be a wisecrack of some kind. You're already innoculated. That's why the things that have made me laugh hardest were the ones I wasn't expecting. You may be surprised but no one has made me laugh harder and taken me by surprise more often than Ivan Seeking. In the same vein, Evo has a finely honed instinct about when to hit you by surprise with a crack you weren't expecting at all.Artman's Rhinoceros thread was the same thing; it seemed to come out of nowhere. As for people who are quick to quip, the ones you expect it from, no one gives me the giggles more than Math Is Hard. Then, of course, there's plover.

*Huckleberry stuffs more chocolate in his mouth*
For some reason I keep getting these daily deliveries of chocolate and crab legs. I've eaten most of the chocolate, but I can't stand crab legs. I'm running out of room in the fridge.

My mistake, it appears that the only member up for the "funniest member" award is Moonbear!

Cheesemenow

What about Gale? She always makes me laugh. I can actually hear what she's saying by the way she writes. And Pillow Head! C'mon, how can anyone beat that?

zooby is clever and funny too. There are several layers of humor in his jokes. He can spin a good yarn too.

Zooby is very funny, so is Gale, and you are also.

I put these two phrases together in my head and thought, "It must be hard to run with crab legs."

It's not that hard if Evo is chasing you with a mallet and a fork, wearing a bib. And it makes it a lot easier to scuttle sideways through the doorways.

I think he and Evo are the masters of the instinct of when to shift suddenly from semi-serious into the humor gear.

As for this rhinoceros thread, I hope by now you've seen an exorcist.

I agree. Ivan does come out with some brilliant humor. Such as you guys in the mouse thread. I loved that. Evo can come out with things out of nowhere that really crack me up. Some of my biggest laughs came from her. there are some marvelously funny people on this forum. Makes for great reading.

Exactly, Evo always takes me by surprise. I thought Chroot's addition to the mouse thread was a minor masterpiece, and there are a lot of others who can write hysterical things when they feel like it.

Oh you must mean this section of the mouse saga:

Patent # 4,669,216

Absolutely great stuff.

Yeah, that was it: Chroot's post #30. A minor masterpiece. I almost wish the thread had been locked and retired after his post. No one could quite beat it.

I think I should get the funniest member award. I indirectly cause lots of humor because people never stop making fun of me.

Aww, flattery can get you everywhere. Oh look, zoobie and Artman have made it to the finals. :approve:

This year the only contenders will be serious people that have homes in GD and live to make others happy. I will not have pretenders in here that come in here and snort and chuckle once and awhile. The person winning the GURU award should be someone that spends most of their time in GD and enjoys cheering up the others.

I will post more about it tommorrow.

That's good, let everyone think they have a chance. I'll be back as soon as work let's me stay home for a few weeks at a time and reclaim my ribbon. Although I did just find something that could keep me off for a little while. Every single scientific American magazine since 1993 in a .pdf file. searchable, bookmarked. it is pretty amazing.

Glad to know you're still around. Didn't want to be stuck with Danger for the rest of my forum life.

And as for this .pdf file, you dare mention it here and not graciously provide us with a link? please??

We've taken up a collection and bribed your employer. You can look forward to a luxurious 2-year assignment in Budapest.:-p

Damn! I suppose that if I don't rescind the bribe, you won't provide a link...

I got the file, two actually, from a site called demonoid.com. If you know anything about BitTorrent files this is how I got it. It took quite a while to download but eventually I got it all.

lol, I just reread my last post. the files are about 900 Megs and it took me most of the day. It was extremely slow for a high speed connection, but 900 megs would have taken me about a month on my dial up. some people are just never satisfied.
