    Keyboard
In summary, Lisa and the other users are discussing keyboards with special characters and the difficulties they face in using them. There is mention of a character map that can be used to access these characters, but some users cannot find it on their computers. There is also a mention of a language called Lisafarian, spoken by a tribe of head hunters, and a joke about terrorist chatter. The conversation also touches on the differences between alphabets and languages and the struggles of using foreign keyboards.

I was always wondering how Chinease speakers write in their language, do they use our a, b, c and so on and apply to their language, can keyboards handle thousands of symbols?

Hold down the "Alt" key and type 0163 to get £.

However, PF does not like you to do this :groan:

Wolram, if you have Windows try:

start->all programs ->accessories -> system tools ->character map

The character map has a slew of symbols and foreign punctuation marks.

I have Windows xp home edition. I'd think every computer would have something similar, even Macs, but no telling where they might have stashed it.

It is Lisafarian, the language of the lisafs, the lisafs are a little known tribe
of head hunters from the upper ubongo land, their language is not well understood as few wester explorers return, sir percy bottomley did return
from such an exploration but was struck mute by the horrors he saw at the
hands of the lisafs, it is rumoured that a past time of the lisafs is to tell
confusing stories while shrinking heads and eating the testicles of their latest
victims.

Man one of my TA's from thermo last semester was Italian. His keyboard was italian. So when we were looking at my teams project code, we were trying to edit and run things...bad idea. We spent half an hour trying to figure out what to press and where to get the amerikan equivalent. :rolleyes:
