Just asking the PF members out of interest (and because this stupid Dragonforce song won't go away). Which songs always get stuck in your head?

If you don't currently own their live CD "On the Night" get it! I hesitated because I owned every other CD, and all the songs were covered by studio versions. I'm glad I bought it! In many cases, the live versions are FAR better, especially the guitar-work on "You and Your Friend". As a guitarist, I pay special attention to that instrument. If you want to hear Knopfler's predecessor, get some of JJ Cale's electric stuff. It'll knock you out.brewnog said:Mmm, I love the little guitar riff after that line!
There are a few different factors that can contribute to a song getting stuck in your head. Some common reasons include repetition, a catchy melody or hook, and personal associations with the song.
The amount of time it takes for a song to get stuck in your head can vary greatly. It could be as short as a few seconds or as long as several days. It largely depends on individual factors such as how much you like the song and how often you hear it.
Yes, it is completely normal to have a song stuck in your head. In fact, studies have shown that almost 98% of people experience earworms (the term for a song stuck in your head) at least once a week.
While there is no surefire way to prevent a song from getting stuck in your head, there are some techniques that may help. Some suggestions include listening to the entire song, distracting yourself with other activities, and actively trying to think of a different song.
In most cases, having a song stuck in your head is harmless and has no negative effects. However, for some individuals, it can become intrusive and distracting, which may cause stress or anxiety. If this happens, it is recommended to seek professional help.
