Quite fascinated by the field and plan to have a go at it for graduate studies. But what's bothering me is the fees per semester. I have checked German universities (Germany has some of the best mechanical engineering programes right ?) and their fees for this discipline are all 3000+ euros per semester while all other programmes cost 500 euros. Why so expensive ?

Also I want to know how much part of this engineering is technical and management based ? Do we get to study hardcore engineering or just management skills ?

Thanks

in advance. The higher fees for mechanical engineering programs are due to the fact that they typically require more expensive materials and equipment in order to support the research and teaching activities. Mechanical engineering is a technical field, so students will learn both technical and management skills. The exact focus of the program will depend on the particular type of engineering you choose to study, as well as the university you attend.

FAQ: Why Are German Mechanical Engineering Programs So Expensive?

What is Production Systems Engineering?

Production Systems Engineering is a field of study that integrates engineering principles, management techniques, and computer science to design, optimize, and manage production systems. It focuses on improving the efficiency, productivity, and quality of manufacturing processes through the use of advanced technology and systems thinking.

What are the key components of a production system?

The key components of a production system include people, machines, materials, methods, and environment. People are responsible for operating and managing the system, machines are used to transform materials into products, materials are the raw materials or parts used in production, methods are the procedures and processes used to produce goods, and environment refers to the physical, social, and economic conditions in which the system operates.

What are the benefits of implementing Production Systems Engineering?

Implementing Production Systems Engineering can bring several benefits to an organization, such as increased productivity, reduced costs, improved product quality, better resource management, and enhanced flexibility and responsiveness to changing market demands. It also helps to identify and eliminate waste, improve safety, and streamline processes, leading to overall business success and competitiveness.

What are the main principles of Production Systems Engineering?

The main principles of Production Systems Engineering include lean thinking, continuous improvement, waste reduction, standardization, and automation. Lean thinking focuses on eliminating waste and maximizing value, continuous improvement aims to constantly improve processes and systems, waste reduction involves identifying and eliminating non-value-added activities, standardization ensures consistency and quality, and automation uses technology to improve efficiency and reduce human error.

What are some examples of applications of Production Systems Engineering?

Production Systems Engineering has a wide range of applications in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals. Some examples include designing and optimizing production lines, implementing quality control systems, developing supply chain management strategies, and using data analytics and artificial intelligence to improve decision-making and forecasting in production processes.
