In summary, robotics are transforming traditional mechanical engineering by automating processes, increasing precision and efficiency, and reducing human error. This has led to advancements in various industries, such as manufacturing, healthcare, and transportation, as well as the development of new technologies and innovations. Robotics have also opened up new job opportunities and allowed for more complex and sophisticated designs. Overall, the integration of robotics in mechanical engineering has revolutionized the field and continues to push boundaries and drive progress.

A quick few lines about myself and why I'm here.
I'm a senior mechanical design engineer for a small engineering company on the south coast of the UK. We generally work in the process automation area of design.
The work is varied and and so are the clients, we have worked with company in many different fields anything from Automotive, thru MOD to Medical (though mostly medical these days).
We are tending to get jobs that require more challenging designs, and although I'm not too bad on the math side I finding that I've lost knowledge that i no longer use the more we go down using robotics in our processes.
So I'm sure I'll find it useful to have a chat with other like minded engineers.
