As of yesterday, I can barely hear youtube videos, they are staticy and low volume, it's not my speakers, since CD's and DVD's sound fine. What could be causing this?
Could be. I'll do some checking tomorrow. I have a call into COMPUTER MAN. If he can't figure it out, no one can.Math Is Hard said:Can you tell if the problem is only with Flash files? I believe the youtube videos are all .swf files. Maybe it's a Flash player problem. Just a wild guess.

COMPUTER MAN is in trouble for being late, he blames me for having gone to bed too early last night.
There could be a few reasons for this. It could be a hardware issue, such as a loose connection or a malfunctioning sound card. It could also be a software issue, such as outdated or corrupted drivers, or a glitch in the operating system. It's best to troubleshoot and determine the cause before attempting a solution.
The solution will depend on the cause of the problem. If it's a hardware issue, you may need to check the connections and make sure everything is properly plugged in. If it's a software issue, you can try updating your sound drivers or doing a system restore to a time when the sound was working. It's also a good idea to check the sound settings on your computer to make sure everything is configured correctly.
Yes, it is possible for viruses or malware to affect your computer's sound. Some malware may disable or manipulate sound settings, while others may directly attack the sound drivers. It's important to regularly run antivirus scans and keep your system and security software up to date to prevent these kinds of issues.
This could be due to a temporary glitch in the system or a conflict between different programs. It's also possible that the sound settings were accidentally changed or muted. Try restarting your computer and checking the sound settings to see if that resolves the issue.
Yes, it is possible to permanently fix the issue, but it will depend on the cause. If it's a hardware issue, you may need to replace the faulty component. If it's a software issue, you may need to update or reinstall the sound drivers. It's important to properly diagnose the problem before attempting a solution to ensure a permanent fix.
