What is "Cards Against Humanity"?
I notice the number one best seller on Amazon today is a game called "Cards Against Humanity". How does that work and why is it so popular - if it really is.
I just want to make sure I have these answers right... if they are not can you please explain how to get the right answer. The wording of the question is what gets me confused with probability.
A box contains 50 index cards. One letter is written on each card. There are
5 cards with the letter...

(a) I presume the frequency row has to equal 100
so
k=100 - (26 + 10 + 20 + 29 + 11)= 4(b)(i) again presume the median is based on frequency and on ordered list
so
median of $4\ 10\ 11 \ 20\ 26\ 29 = \frac{31}{2}$ or $15.5$

Hey guys,
I have a problem relating to combinations and permutations. In how many ways can I divide a deck of 52 cards into piles of 3 with each pile containing any number?
for example 50,1,1 or 45,6,1
Thanks in advance

Hi, I have to make the classic egg drop contraption but we're only allowed to use plastic drinking straws, index cards, and hot glue.

Let's say that I'm playing a card game with 3 friends. The game involves a full deck of regular playing cards (52 cards, 4 suits, etc.) For this game, each player is dealt 5 cards. The cards are dealt out 5 cards at a time and in a clockwise direction starting with the person to the left of the...

Hi,
I'm a bit thick-headed I guess and I cannot seem to figure out why my answer to this question is wrong.

A standard deck of 52 cards of 4 suits, each with 13 denominations, is well shuffled and dealt out to four players, N, S, E and W, who each receive 13 cards. If N and S have exactly ten cards of a specified suit between them, show that the probability that three remaining...
I initially wanted to buy two GTX 670's but someone told me this isn't necessary because I have a 1920x1080 resolution monitor @75Hz, and that the framerate with one GTX 670 on that resolution would never drop below 75.
So I was considering upgrading my two Radeon HD 5870's (1GB) to a single...

It's been some time since I studied probability. So, forgive me if this seems like a very simple question to answer, but after trying to wrap my head around it for two days without any success, I'm confident that once I understand it, the rest will become very clear.
Let me start with what I...
I was thinking about upgrading my graphics cards from two HD 5870's to either two HD 7970's or two GTX 670's.
Right now I have an 850W power supply, which probably isn't enough for those two cards.
What PSU might you recommend for the cards I listed?
I heard the GTX 670 and 680 are very close...

Hello, everyone! I am new to the forums here, so I will start with a brief introduction. My name is Martin Pulido, and I am philosophy graduate who also happens to love card games (as well as board games). Card games not only illustrate philosophical ideas (War=Determinism), but many are also...
I'm not very good at probability and I'm just having trouble interpreting and calculating what the questions actually want me to do. Could someone please help to explain this simply?

OK you probabilitizers:
21 cards are labelled: 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3,4,4,4,5,5,5,6,7,8,9,10,11
You pick 5 cards at random, no replacement.
To "win", you need at least 3 DIFFERENT cards < 6.
Example: two 3's counts as one 3; three 4's counts as one 4.
So, as example, 5,2,5,9,5 is not a winning...

Hi there,
I am writing a program to verify the total combination of dealing 10 cards to two players out of 52 cards. The math is simple. Firstly, the total way to draw 10 cards from 52 is C(52, 10) = 15820024220. From the drawn 10 cards, we pick any 5 for player A and the rest of player B...
Hi there,
I am thinking a question from a book about drawing ten cards from 52 cards. The first case is drawing ten cards, having 7 cards of a club, 1 card of a heart, 2 cards of a diamond. The order doesn't matter, so the total number of possibilities is
C(13, 7)*C(13, 1)*C(13, 2) =...
