What instrument would I need to get a hysteresis loop (Flux Density vs Magnetizing Force) for an inductor? Is it something that can be easily obtained given the proper equipment?
Thanks!

I may be taking control of the running of some seismology equipment, which is run via C code. I know very very little about C code. Would it be better for me to spend the time to thoughroughly learn C, or could it be possible for me to convert the software to Java. I have a pretty god...
Hi everyone. I am an EE student (dual major in physics and EE) and I am considering investing in a decent protoboard, oscilloscope, and signal generator. I also would like a decent power supply that has 5V, 12V and 15V DC and I want a decent multimeter. This will mainly be for labs and...
I wasn't sure where to put this thread... if it's in the wrong place, please move it.
Anyways, I'm making a couple of posters for display and one of the showcases is featuing antique equipment like ohmmeters (Wheatstone bridge), ammeters, voltmeters, etc. I was wondering if anyone knew of any...
I am looking for a simple piece of equipment w/ the following description:
It has two handles at the ends joined by springs in the middle. It is really simple and can be used for simple excercises. One handle can be placed under a foot to mimick simple bicep training.
I went through all...
What I really need is an analogue function generator of some sort. Right now I am using a tektronix cfg250 which can put out up to 2mhz frequencies (square, sine, sawtooth, etc). Is there anything similar to this? I don't want anything with a screen on it...but it looks like tektronix doesn't...
hi all, can someone explain to me if i were to theoretically calculate current using an ammeter in small units eg micro amp's 10^-6 and physically use an ammeter to obtain results why do they differ greatly?
and also when i am using a cathode ray oscilloscope (CRO), when i am measuring...

Can an electron beam gun be made to where the very end of the gun (the end that the electron is emitted from) can be made to be the exact size of an electron?
The reason I ask is this: In attempts to discover how an electron travels through the two-slits experiement, it was determined that...

I would like ur opinion on some of my first serious astro-imaging work. And I didn't use very expensive equipment. (Equipment used is on my page)

Hi everybody,
I'm working on a project aiming to determine what are the differents ways to measure the free energy (gibbs) and the enthalpy of solutions or any bodies.
And I have no idea.
If you know some equipment or some procedure to measure it, I would be very happy.
Thanks.

edit (written after first two responses): Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner. I got interrupted as I was posting this. The point is, if you watch the video of the report, you can get some real nice equipment...
I think, myself included [and mainly:smile:], there are people at PF that would like to know good testing equipment for electronics and such [multimeters etc].
Anybody with knowledge on the subject is welcome to suggest products and personal experience is very good also.
