Hello folks,
Does anyone have any information about golf simulation for math and physics formula by using Newton's gravity law and dynamics? I was searching for them through Internet but can't find any source. Does anyone know any open-source golf simulator?
Thanks,
Tim
Golf balls and cliffs!
Hi I'm new to this forum and a novice in physics could anyone please help me with this question?

Homework Statement
y = -15.2m
Vox = 11.2 m/s
Voy = 0
ay = -9.8 m/s^2
The Attempt at a Solution
a) y = Voy t + 1/2 ay t^2
-15.2 = 0 + 1/2(-9.8) t^2
t^2 = 3.10
t = 1.76 s

In putting, the force with which a golfer strikes a ball is planned so that the ball will stop within some small distance of the cup,say,1m long or short, in case the putt is missed. Acomplishing this from an uphill lie is more difficult than from adownhill lie . to see why...

hey guys, my classmate and i have to design a device that will launch a golf ball 15m, using either a spring (which is what we're going to use) or elastic

Or just how to go about getting average backspin measurements of balls hit at different angles and speed...
I don't understand the normal force and how to calculate it. If I have a question about a golfer putting a ball with a speed and a force that s slowing it down to get to the hole, it has normal force but it would equal 0 because there is no movement in the y direction right?
