Hi, just can't get my head around how to draw these three graphs. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Give an example of a function f : N -> Z that is bijective/that is injective but not surjective/that is...
Hi everyone,
I am trying to get an intuitive grasp of the Euler Relationship

Hi all,
Right now I am doing some Diff equations homework but am having difficulty with a problem. The problem asks me to draw a direction field for the system x' = \left(\begin{array}{cc}1 & 1\\4 & 1\end{array}\right)\left(\begin{array}{cc}x_1\\x_2\end{array}\right)
The proper...
How would you graph y=f(x)-4? I am not sure how the original graph looks like y=f(x) either. Also, if i were to graph this using a graphing calculator, how would that be done?
I was trying to build a program that let's you find the integral and shows you the curve after giving you the solution. And I don't know how to write the code for the calculator to ask you for the y value. I know how to use drawf but you can't set your zoom to zoomfit because your calculator...
Hi all,
Just wanted to note that we created an online graphing calculator:

which should work in most modern browsers (except Safari). Hope you find it useful - share it, let us know if you find it useful, see any bugs, or have any suggestions about what would be useful...
Homework Statement
Solve the system of equations graphically.
Homework Equations
1)
4x - y = 5
y = 4 - 5x^2
2)
2x^2 + y^2 = 33
x^2 - y^2 = 12
The Attempt at a Solution
The answers I got for the intersecting points are:
1)
(1, -1)
And
2)

hey all
if I have the function for a derivative (which it is impossible to find an integral for, by the way), how do I graph the original?
This graph is shaped kind of like an M, meaning it has some sharp points...on the original graph, would these be asymptotes or also sharp points??

Help me decide. I want something that can help w/ calculus, trig, physics, statistics(not an absolutely necessary feature) and chem(not sure what features would be added to help this, but if you know then do tell) and allowed on SAT/ACT.
any ideas
Hi,
I was looking for some Windows software that did the job a graphing calculator does, but on the computer screen. I've been using the calculator that comes with Microsoft Student, but it lacks some features that would be quite useful (specially when it comes to complex functions).
Which...
Hi,
I've a basic knowledge of c++, but I've never learned graphing. What little I know, I've picked up myself. I am trying to graph the motion of a projectile launched with a given speed and at a given angle, but the graph doesn't complete. Also, its very spaced out. I know its a parabola so I...
what would a wave function of
phi(x) = Ke^(-a|x|)
look like?
would it be like an exponential graph with a graph reflected along the y axis?
and its probability distrubution (phi)^2?
i have no idea...i can't seem to find it by googling.
If the end of a string is given a single shake, a wave pulse
propagates down the string. A particular wave pulse is described by the function
y(x,t) = (A^3/(A^2 + (x - vt)^2))
where A = 1.00 cm, and v = 20.0 m/s.
a) Sketch the pulse as a function of x at t = 0. How far along the string...

Why does the period of a tangent function = 180 degrees, and the sine and cosine functions have periods of 360 degrees. Also i don't understand why asymptotes are included in the tangent graph, and not the other two
If someone could clarfy this for me id be very thankful
so if the plot of x(t) is given, then I get confused about how to graph x(4-t/2), I know how to graph x(t+4), x(t/2) and x(-2) ..

any help?
Hello again,
Once I get this graphed correctly, I don't see any problems as to why I couldn't solve it. But for now I have a question about graphing this volume problem.
The problem says to find the volume generated by rotating the region bounded by y=e^x, x=0, and y=\pi about the x-axis.
I...
hi guys this is my first time posting on here hope it's in the right section

For my time series and spectral analysis class i need to graph something like in the attachment. i need to have 100 numbers that are connected like that, and then 'add' them to a sinusiodal wave to create a real life wave - with noise.
How would i do this using mathematica??

Hey Guys,
In PreCalculus, today, I received a fairly difficult project -- probably not as hard as you would think, but I do need help. We are asked to create one picture on our Graphing Calculators. I have done about 11 so far, but none are as I like them.
This is what I put into the Y...
I’m having trouble graphing this equation:
16x^2+9y^2=144
I have entered it into both my Algebrator program and the quickmath.com website. They both gave the same graph of the ellipse. In each case the major axis was vertical. With the Algebrator program it simplifies the above equation...
If I am using the Plot3D command in Mathematica, how can I plot two separate functions on the same coordinates? Specifically, I am trying to get a picture of the intersection of x+y+z=1$ with x^{2}+y^{2}+z^{2}=1.
I'm thinking of buying a graphing calculator, I think my options are TI-89 Titanium or the HP 49g+, so do u guys know which is better for an EE and if there is any other choices.
Thanks.

Algebra II-- 3-D Graphing
my algebra II class is getting into 3-D graphing and i need help. can anyone tell me where to find some pre-made blank graphs? it takes me too long to draw them by hand and interferes with my tests.
hey all
i have the following d.e.
y''+y=f(t); y(0)=0, y'(0)=1;
f(t)={ 1 , 0<=t < pi/2
{ 0, pi/2 <=t < infinity
so i solved the d.e.
and i got
Y(t) = 1+sin-cost-U_pi/2[1-sint]
i did all the work, i just don't know how to go about graphing the funciton..
any help would be...
Hello,
I have this problem that I completed. I was hoping somebody could just let me know, based on my answers if the graph I have drawn looks to be correct? I would really appreciate it.
Thanks to anyone who replies.
Graph Y1 = log (X^26) & Y2 = 26 Log (X) Are they Equivalent ?
I drew the graph using X values ( -5, -4, -3, ... , 4, 5 )
and I got graphs, but don't know how to account for any differences in two functions..
Can anyone in here help
Okay, here is the problem, ; Remesh likes to run outdoors and ride his bicycle at the veledrome. He burns about 400 calories/h running, and 300/h riding his bike. It costs $6/h to ride in the veledrome. Ramesh hopes to develope a weekly exersise program that will burn 4800 calories, cost no more...
