Hello everyone. There arn't any problems like this in this section, so I'm kind of lost on what they want. It says...

UK amazon just started direct sales of Smolin's book today.

Are basic principles like those of Newton's laws of motion considered as physics axioms on which you expand to physics theorems?
Where can I find a list of physics axioms?
XP is something I've studiously avoided.
I have a neighbor with a question though.
Normally when you right click the Start button the "Open" command is at the top of the popup list.
In this case the order has somehow shifted and now the "Search" command is at the top of the list.

I'm creating a large document in LaTeX, with several figures. Some of these figures have citations within the captions, which is causing problems since I am creating a list of figures, with captions, at the start of the document. A figure that appears midway through has a reference that should...
Does anyone know where to find a list of stars and objects that are part of Gould's Belt? I am not interested in a list of the constellations through which Gould's Belt spans in the sky, but in a list of each of the (most visible or relevant) objects that are actually part of it.
I need a list of primes up to at least 10^9 if possible. I don't want a program that will generate it as it will take too long. Does anyone know where on the net I can find a list that's already compiled? The largest I can find so far is 10^7.
The list doesn't have to be fancy, just the primes...

Stanford/SLAC has been lax about maintaining the topcite review process. Some of our bets depend on the topcite report----the forecast polls we had last year were sometimes about trends in citation.
Arivero has remedied the slackness of SLAC to some extent by compiling the 2005 topcite list...
For a school project, I am trying to compile a good sized list of the interelation of derivatives in physics. I know I can just go through every page in my book but does anyone know any handy links off hand?
For those of you who don't chat with me outside PF, I'm interminably buried in mountains of work. I tend to bite off more than I can chew, mainly because I like being busy. Only problem with that is that I'm definitely in the running for least productive human being alive (ok, so I'm...

we are fortunate to be introduced to several approaches for combining matter with a quantum spacetime---enough so there is actually a profusion of "quantum spacetime/matter" alternatives
so we had better list the ones that have been introduced to us recently

Hi, I am a completely newb to the MIPS assembly language and I'm having a bit of trouble with this one procedure. Basically, i want to have the user enter in a list of numbers. The user can keep entering in numbers but when -999 is entered, the user cannot enter in anymore numbers. This list...
My schools library is average i guess you could say. I just finished fahrenheit 451, i liked 1984, but my memory is not so good and I am wondering if people could list books similar to that.
Also id be interested in some sci-fi-political books if such existed, or maybe just a well written...
It seems the GOP has been beleaguered this year. Can we start a list of specific items? If this is frowned upon, please feel free to delete it, Evo. I just would like to compile a discrete list for some of my friends, who are unaware of all the problems besieging the republican party.

Astounding to think the rovers only had a such a limited life span expectation to begin with, yet they are still going so strong nearly two years on.
I wonder if they could carry on for a few more years yet?! After all the Martian...
