MASTER (Mobile Astronomical System of Telescope-Robots) is a Russian network of automated telescopes in five Russian cities, and in South Africa, Argentina and the Canary Islands. It is intended to react quickly to reports of transient astronomical events. It started its development in 2002 and it is in fully autonomous operations since 2011.On 17 August 2017, an autonomous MASTER telescope in Argentina successfully recorded a collision of neutron stars some 130 million light-years away.
Hello all,
Long story short:
I'm modding a Netbook PC; I'm powering three different sets of LEDs from three separate USB power sources.
1. How can I create one master power switch for all three circuits?
2. Would hooking all three circuits up to one switch in parallel burnout my USB ports...
Hello, I am currently doing a coop with a nuclear power company as a mechanical engineer. I was wondering if it is worth it to keep going with my education as far as a masters degree then phd, or will it not make a difference in pay?
Dear,
After three years from graduation, I applied for master degree on Physics in strong University in Japan.
After those three years I almost forgot all basics. Even the parts which I remember I have problems how to deal with its math.
Not to mention that the program witch I graduated...
So I tend to here something like "(insert famous scientist) mastered calculus at the age of 13". What exactly is that suppose to mean? Surly you can be good at a subject and get an A in the course, but still be far from a master. To those of you who are pursuing higher education or especially...
Hi all,
I just would like to ask that I took my master degree in physics at Stockholm Uni. Although my research was great (first author of a paper in top ranked journal ),my gpa was terrible. I am not sure but It is something like 2.62(When I convert it via website wes.org). I applied Phd in...
What is the best, if not great, scholarship for a master (graduate) in Astrophysics or Astronomy? I have been looking around the internet, but I am not sure if the scholarships I have seen will allow me to study Astrophysics, and most of them have their deadlines passed.

Hi All,
The other day an old high school buddy of mine emailed me asking if I could find out about the general cost of master and PhD programs in math across American schools. I grew up in one of those 'stan countries', but have been living in the US for 7 years now. He's still there and as far...
Hello friends

Now, I am finally decided to pursue physics...
Hi, I recently graduated from my undergraduate degree in chemical engineering. Since then, I have worked some time at a chemical plant and some time at a research center (specialized in materials science). Right now I am thinking of going to grad school, but I am having some trouble in deciding...
Hello.
i am searching for a topic for my Master Thesis. My Master is on Power Systems and i want to combine my thesis with digital signal processing. but i am stuck on finding a topic.
So if anybody can helping choosing a subject or giving me some ideas that i can work on?
Best regards
In Jordan, Gauss-Jordan and Laplace it's necessary to miltiply a line by a constant, add the result to other line in order to obtain 'zeros' (to facilitate the process while using Laplace) or to obtain a identity matrix (Jordan and Gauss-Jordan).
I take TOO long while doing this and sometimes...
Do some of you got a Phd without a Master?
I have a professor that only have a phd and 3 posdoc. How this works and how hard it is? And, if you know, what kind of institute or which contry have this kind of program?
I just finished taking Calculus 1 at a CC last semester. This coming semester, I will be taking Calculus 2, which will be my last semester of Calculus (woohoo!). I didn't take Precal seriously during junior year of high school (had an eating disorder that made me unable to concentrate and...
Hey guys, I was wondering if the Master of Engineering programs without a thesis have a lower admission requirement than a Master of Science degree with a thesis.
I'm sure that most schools will still have the 3.0 minimum requirement but I think they don't look too heavily on research...
So this is purely for self-study purposes. Say I'm very keen on understanding GR well, but I don't even have the prerequisites done for even starting to grasp GR. Would anyone be able to give an outline of the skills necessary in understanding GR?
An outline would look something like this...
Hello, I'm having a hard time grasping this g-factor. Why was it invented? How do you solve for it?
I'm currently using Serway's Modern Physics textbook right now, and I feel like it skimped on it so much that I just have no idea what it really is. If someone can expound, it would be greatly...

Hi everyone!
In many places in Europe students usually have to take a 5-year long master's degree (3+2 years), before doing a 3-year long PhD. It seems that in US one has to take a 3 year long undergrad and then go into grad school for 5 years.
I have heard that If a person with a 5-year...
