I've been attempting to use the general method of solving found at this website...

I got a 5x^2 + 8 = A/x^2 + B/x + 1
A(x+1) + B(x^2)
(Ax+A) + (Bx^2)
(Ax + Bx^2) + A
5x^2 + 8 = (A + B) x + (A)x^2
5x^2+x+8=(A+B) + (A)
This is about as far as I can get but I think I made a mistake somewhere but I don't know where? Can someone help me?

I got values for my unknowns A, B, C, D,E are:
A=5
B=-1777/29
C=-6143/29
