OrCAD Systems Corporation was a software company that made OrCAD, a proprietary software tool suite used primarily for electronic design automation (EDA). The software is used mainly by electronic design engineers and electronic technicians to create electronic schematics, perform mixed-signal simulation and electronic prints for manufacturing printed circuit boards. OrCAD was taken over by Cadence Design Systems in 1999 and was integrated with Cadence Allegro since 2005.
The name OrCAD is a portmanteau, reflecting the company and its software's origins: Oregon + CAD.
Homework Statement
Referring to the circuit, I need to verify this by PSpice simulation.
I have calculated gain parameter k = 2.5 when Rin = 0 and the current flow through the 0.5S(2 ohm) resistor = 0.5IoA, which is correct.
The Attempt at a Solution
Firstly, I considered Io as a 1A DC...

ORCAD PSPICE : LM324 Help !
I am making a simulation of my project on Intercom using LM324 opamp as preamp and before Power amp ckt.
But I am having trouble with that.
I tried making an inverter using LM324 with pin 11 as ground. But this does not give correct result. Although the...
1. My Attempt
I need to convert the book problem of a circuit with a voltage controlled current source with one in PSPICE. I am attaching a picture which shows my attempt. I think I have it wrong but it might be right. So if someone with knowledge in EE and PSPICE could help me it would be...
Hello. I use P-Spice student version and I regret that standard librairies offer very few number of models, especially for Op-Amp's. Is there sites where I can download more components models.
Design a digital ring oscillator using logic inverters that have propagation delay times of tPLH = 28ns and tPHL = 42ns.
The Attempt at a Solution
I'm using a general ring oscillator design using 3 CMOS inverters like this...
Can someone explain to me how to create a 0-3V TTL waveform at 20 Hz in Capture (Pspice)?
- edit: Figured out how to adjust the pot, but still can't figure out the TTL waveform.
A 20Hz TTL waveform is applied to the circuit...
The Attempt at a Solution
- I'm working an activity for my lab tomorrow (not actually due for any points, just to help us get an understanding of the lab), but I'm not really sure what it means when it says a "20 Hz TTL waveform"...
Hi everyone...
I am trying to model and simulate an astable multivibrator using Pspice but i am having some difficulty...
Both transistors are coming on at the same time so I never get the oscillations I expect. What do I need to do to make the model act more like a "real life" astable...
I have a simple circuit 2v supply R and Diode in Pspice that I'm trying to run a simulation on. I get the following message.
"This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose 'Switch To' to activate the busy program and correct the problem."
I have no idea what the...

I am working on modeling a power system on an aircraft right now, the problem is that I have loads that are constant power drawing no matter the voltage. They will draw 5kilowatts no matter 28 volts or 22 volts. My problem is modeling them. I can model them at one particular voltage but I want a...
Hello Everyone,
I am trying to model a circuit using Orcad Pspice 9.2
I am trying to solve the time when the opamp saturates with maximum voltage operation of 10v and -10v. I am applying different voltages to the circuit, when I do the transient analysis, i am not getting the right time. For...
Hi,
I'm running a simulation on PSPICE in which I am trying to plot Vce against Ic for various base currents of a transistor, and I therefore need to have multiple data sets on one graph. I've managed to do this by using the DC Sweep simulation with the primary sweep on the collector resistor...
Hi, I'm having a problem while running a simulation of a Bridge Rectifier on PSpice.
This is my circuit schematic:

Vs is at 15sin(100*pi*t).
And this is the input and output waveforms plotted by PSpice...
Hi,
It is my first encouter with Pspice program.
I want to simulate a RCL circuit to see how it react at different frequencies.
I made the circuit and create a netlist. The circuit has no errors( when I look at the output file) but I don't know what to do to produce a curve.
please can...
I need help plotting the VTC of a given circuit. I tried dividing the output signal by the input signal put that does not work. Is there a function I can use to achieve this? I'm using Orcade Capture Lite by the way.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Guys,
I am stuck at a point and needs help.
The thing is I am doing MOSFET inverters using Pspice.
I am getting its VTC (voltage characteristic Curve) But I don't know how to get derivative of this curve in order to obtain some parameters required for Noise margin.
Here is the file...
Hi all,
This is first time I am using Pspice. I have 9.1 student version.
I am using Pspice capture user's guide for reference. Following an example from there, I was trying to do bias point calculation using Capture.
I have no knowledge about Pspice and I am following the user's guide only...
Hi. I'm drawing a Thermistor on PSpice Schematic to show a figure of the Thermistor for the lab write up but I am having trouble drawing the current "i" on PSpice Schematic. Could you help me out and tell me how to insert the current on my schematic? This is only the second time I have ever used...
Hi...I'm trying to learn how to use these programs. I have the demo versions of OrCad 10...The whole suite. I've been trying to lay out a basic 1-channel audio amplification schematic. I've attached what I have so far. Can someone explain to me how to add a power source, and how to simulate...
Hi,
I'm designing a circuit in pspice and having some trouble with the switching. In my circuit in pspice I'm using an ideal voltage controlled switch model "S" and using a vpulse to control it. My current through the switch needs to be bidirectional, and maxing around 80mA with an average...

I am trying to define the sensitivity of a piezoresistance as a function of temperature using PARAMETERS. The equation is: {S=S0(1-TCS(temp-25))}.
The problem is that "temp" doesn't change during a Temperature Sweep, but I don't have any error either. Could you help me?
I installed Pspice Capture Lite from my student cd that came with my EE book, but the only things in the library are what I DON'T need! It has no analog voltage or current source!? Does anyone have or know where I can download an extended library of parts? Also, can anyone tell me how to a...
i know how to set up the DC sweep analysis, but what is it actually for?
i see both axes are voltages.
like transient analysis, i know exactly what it is for. it shows a time-domain voltage simulus.
hope for a brief description on it. thank you very much.
How do I plot equivalent impedance v. frequency? I'm already in AC mode so the frequency is taken care of, but I keep trying to manually write trace expressions for zeq and nothing is working. any tips?

Is there a way to tell PSPICE to graph a signal without having to go to Trace>Add-Trace and selecting the signals each time? If I added a signal and then change a component value slightly and run the simulation, is there a way I can refresh the signal without having to go through the add trace...
Hello all,
I am an Electrical Engineering student and I currently building a small, simple, FM Transmitter. I would like to be able to simulate this in pspice but I have had no luck. I can get a sinusoidal output, and gain, but no Frequency Modulation. Does anyone know of a good pspice...
In my schematic, i have vdc = 10v, a resitor, ground and a capcitor. All 3 are in series except ground. When I run simulation, I get a straight line at 10v instead of a curve from 0 to 10v. I put the voltage probe between resistor and cap btw.
