I watched a home video about the Tesla coil and saw the electric bolts...i thought the guy was standing kinda close to this thing but never got struck. Is there a limit to how far away the bolts of electricity can go from the coil? They looked pretty random.
I haven't looked into it much but I was watching a documentary that said Tesla intended the tower to fire a massive ball of electricity all the way around the globe and back to the tower again and keep repeating the process. What the hells that all about?
I thought the Tesla tower was supposed...
I have read a bit about Tesla turbines and their amazingly high RPM output. I have also read that they don't product much torque, which is possibly why they haven't been used in anything more than dentist's drills and other things requiring speed but not high torque. How much power could one...
any of you every attempt to design and build a tesla coil. I would love to build one . Can any of you share your experiences when you first begin to construct the Tesla coil and how long did the project take? What materials do I need. Do you have to be an electrician to build a tesla coil
hey all, another quick question for ya
The modern system for transmission of electric energy using alternating current (AC) originated with an inventor named Nikola Tesla. An American entrepreneur, George Westinghouse, bought the rights to Tesla's system and managed to convince consumers that...
Hello,
We are two students trying to build a small scale Tesla Tower (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wardenclyffe_Tower) that perhaps would transmit electrical energy wirelessly through a house. But first, before we start building this, we are starting on a small scale electrical energy...
What is the principle of "tesla coil'??
What is the principle of "tesla coil'?
What is different between "tesla coil' and 'high-voltage transformer"?
Thank you in advance!
Googling for something else I ran across this feature article on Tesla from 1899:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/forgottenfutures/tesla/tesla.htm
I've read other similar accounts of visits to his lab quoted in biographies of him, and he included similar dazzling displays of high frequency AC...
what do you think about nikola tesla's inventions?
i know the resonence frequency has some truth in it. but it can't collapse a skyscraper.
but all the "crap infomation" on the net providing that tesla invented a "death ray" i think they put more emfasis on the name than nessairy.
is...
Hello All,
I was just rummaging through some old Tesla patents I have and I came across patent US381968, which describes different ways to make two-phase AC motors. The setup that I am interested in is on the second page and shows a toroidal core with four coils wrapped on it as the stator...
Nicola Tesla was undoubtedly one of the greatest geniuses of 20 century. His contributions to Electrical Engineering field were amazing for the entire world. But, only a handful people know his name. Although he was a profound genius, he was a forgotten person in history. Why?
My school district requires that each high school senior complete what's called a "Graduation Project," in which the student makes a project of their choice that relates to their academics. There's no specific requirements about the actual project, just the completion of different components...
So someone pointed me to a patent of Tesla's (or two, rather, but basically the same thing):
* US Patent 685, 957: Apparatus for the utilization of radiant energy
* US Patent 685, 958: Method of utilizing radiant energy
(You need a TIFF viewer and then click on the "images" link.)...
I want to build a tesla coil for my school's science fair. Is there some way you can make the Tesla coil safe and not extremely dangerous and deadly? I don’t want to kill myself  ! Does anyone have any tips or advise?
~Thanks
I know that an electro magnet can have a higher tesla rating when you increase the current or the times revolved around the core but I was wondering if someone could give me an equation or set of equations involving the length of wire, gauge of wire, current, cross sectional area of the wire...
Nikola Tesla was an unrecognized genius before his time. He believed that the Earth itself could conduct energy around the world and be tapped for free anywhere. Doesn't it seem ironic that such a device existed back in the early 1900's. Tesla had the right idea but the Government could not find...
Disclaimer: I'm a gullible person.
Tesla, Moray and Hutchinson have all claimed to have created devices that can produce energy without recharging and without any visible input.
Tesla's device was supposedly destroyed. He is dead.
Plans to Moray's device were supposedly stolen and the...
