I've thought of titanium dioxide as a very inert material--until yesterday when I was reading its MSDS and found out it shouldn't be combined with strong acids or oxidizers. Why? Is this at room temperature or several hundred °C?
Not combining it with reactive metals makes sense to me--it's an...
Can titanium made thin enough or designed a certain way to be used as a cover for a push botton switch?
Such as the one made from plastic in the flashlight below.

The titanium would cover the...
Hello,the <Diamond> + F1 menu allows me to plot only Y= graphs.
I just want to ask if how do I graph in terms of y? is there anyway or you need to really graph it in terms of x? thank you very much...
Hello,
I wish to write a function that takes in 3 arguments and outputs 1. I want it to be a saved function so that I can call it at will like cos() or ln()
How do i go about doing this? I am unsure of the syntax.
Let's say it is really simple like:
f(x,y,z)=x+y+z
So from the home...
Sequences, Cumulative Sums, Partial Sums Plot --- Ti-89 Titanium
My proffessor just gave us all these packets for all these programs he wants us to put into our calculators. They are for a Partial Sums Plot, and a List of Cumulative Sums, nth terms and differences. They're all for the Ti-83...

Seawater at 13m/s containing 1750mg/L sand impinges on a 8cm^{}2 titanium specimen. I'm given a polarisation curve (which I'm unable to reproduce here for the moment) and the data that without cathodic protection a weight loss of 4.0mg is measured in 16 hours and with CP...
Hi guys, i got a problem with the high pressure cleaning with the titanium tubes.
What happened was that the titanium tubes (SB 338 Gr 12; OD=50,8mm; thickness=0.71mm) experiences scalings with Calcium Sulphate, and now we are trying to clean it off using HP cleaning, the specified max...
It says (the TI site) that the TI-89 Titanium can manipulate symbolically and what not. Well I just have 2 quick questions:
let's say I punch in some equation like \frac{dE}{dt}=\dot{Q}-\dot{W}+\sum_i\dot{m_i}h_i-\sum_e\dot{m_e}h_e
1.) I could somehow select W (for example) and the calculator...
ti-89 titanium urgent help
I have been using the ti-89 over over a year now and have never come across this problem. I went to the numeric solver category in the APPS menu and put in a numeric value. When I went back and put in an expression to be factored ex. (x^2-36). It gave me the answer...
I just bought my ti-89 Ti
Please help me with this problem.
I can't get the right integral, instead I get a matrix look output.
Check the picture I attach to this post, then tell me what I should do to have the right answer.
Thank You
I was checking the price for ti-89 titanium on both ebay and amazon, the cheapest price I can get is 132 with shipping. Can anyone give me some suggestion or website that I can get a cheaper price?
Thank You

A sample of titanium dioxide (TiO2) weighing 1.598 g is heated in H2 gas to give
water vapour and 1.438 g of another titanium oxide. What is the formula of the
oxide produced?

The <Diamond> + F1 menu allows me to plot only Y= graphs.
How do I plot a graph of say, y^2=x+4 ?
You cannot plot y=Root(x+4) because you would miss the negative part of y.
If this is the only way to plot such graphs, how to you tell TI to plot a y= +/- Root(x+4) ?
Thanks.
How to enter negative numbers in Ti89 Titanium??
This is so hard. I wonder whether I need more training in Google search or is it that the Ti89Titanium has a very very poor Knowledge Base and Tutorial.

You have 2 balls. Both are identical in size and mass, but one is made of gold and is hollow, the other is not hollow and made from titanium. Find out which is which ball, and let's say both are covered with a black paint that is anti reflective, heat/electricity insulator. You can't use any...
Hopefully I can throw this question in this section, sorry if it should go elsewhere. Seeing as I am studying in engineering, I thought others may have the same calculator and be helpful.
Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way on this calculator to show say 1*_W (unit of watts) in terms...

OK, this is driving me nuts. I am learning how to use the calculator, and I can make perfect graphs for any function for x using the Y= Editor

Hi,

is there any quick way to convert numbers to fractions then back to decimals, without changing the mode.
also if i type in log 54, it gives me log 54.
i don't get an answer

So, here's the situation. I recently got a Ti-89 Titanium, and i was trying to put some games on it. I had it plugged into my computer, and i sent Phoenix, Tetris, and Falldown over to it. Going through Var-Link and selecting the program didnt seem to work, so i decided to try downloading an OS...
Right now I'm doing Centroids in my math class. we are given two functions.
X=-y
