How did you find PF?
I knew it was here for years. Always had the icon up on my browser.
I am a senior electronic technician who loves working with engineers and repairing electronic equipment. I'm 68 and still working, feeling that it's just not fair that I will eventually have to stop. I work for a military contractor where I test and repair avionics. I find myself in an unexpected position. As my peers retire around me, the younger guys give me more respect and recognition for being one of the few with knowledge and experience. I am here because every once in a while, I have questions.

Just want to add that I got my training while in the Air Force between 1976 to 1980. Was in metrology and loved every moment of it. Had my hands on an unbelievably wide range of test equipment (from DC to microwave) that I had to both calibrate and repair. I became the guy who loved to handle those difficult repairs. From the Air Force to a military contractor, first in metrology then to engineering. For many years I've bounced from one failing company to the next where again, I gained experience with a wide range of technology. So I ended up in New Jersey first for an outfit that produced flight recorders, then to a small contract manufacturing engineering firm to a place where they designed specialty meters and ended up back at a military contractor where we make avionics. When I got hired, I felt I came back home.

Hello, I’m joining from Turkey and I’m 28 years old. I discovered my interest in science through a YouTube video (@Veritasium) , and everything I’ve learned since then excites me so much that I feel like a child wanting to share every new piece of knowledge with those around me. Although I don’t yet have full mastery of mathematical formulas or physical laws, my passion for learning constantly drives me to explore and understand more. No matter how complex the world of science may be, my...
