Get the sharp zaurus while you can. Sharp is discontinuing it soon.
 
Some of the first-generation IPaqs are able to run Linux. You should be able to get one off Ebay relatively cheap. I'll see if I can dig up the distribution for them.
 
This week, I saw a documentary done by the French called Les sacrifiés de l'IA, which was presented by a Canadian show Enquête. If you understand French I recommend it. Very eye-opening.
